An immaculate example of a classic Victorian mourning locket, made of gold with a black enamel front and bale, set in the center with a .75 carat old European diamond which is nestled in a starburst design. Open the piece to reveal the relics still housed therewithin: a gentleman’s portrait photograph and three carefully-rolled locks of hair, fastened with golden string. The engravings on the frames read C.J. Turner, born 9th February. 1793… Died 21st June 1879 and John Macfarlan born 19th Sept. 1863… Died 5th March 1881. 2.25 by 1.75 inches. Excellent antique condition. Sold with a chain.
