English Victorian Enamel & Banded Agate Picture Locket

Granulation… glorious granulation! Look closely to appreciate the incredible amount of labor that was required to create this stunning oversized Victorian treasure. A large cabochon banded agate is framed in a multi-textured bezel with meticulously precise enamel and further granulation on the sides of the pendant. The sculpted bale is also not without detail. The back reveals a picture locket that still retains an image displayed inside. In total, the pendant measures 3 inches long (including the bale) and 1.5 inches wide. Made of 15k yellow gold and suspended from an 18 inch antique chain. Circa 1870
