Antique Jade & Diamond Butterfly Pin/Pendant

Beautifully made with a fine hand, the wings of this charming creature are adorned with speckled green jade while its perimeter and body are framed by rose cut diamonds. Life this lovely piece to the light and appreciate how the filigree finished back creates a scrolling pattern faintly visible through the jade, creating a lifelike visual texture to the wings. Note the ruby eyes and mill grain edges. 2 3/8 by 1 3/8, made of silver and yellow gold and accompanied in its original presentation box. Circa 1900
