Rolex ref. #6062 Triple Calendar Moon Phase

Very rare and historically important 18k yellow gold Rolex ref. #6062, triple calendar with moon phase. Complicated vintage Rolex timepieces of this caliber are very scarce and many collectors will only have the opportunity to view a watch such as this in reference books or at auction.

Produced in the short window from 1948-1953, fewer than 500 pieces of this model are known to exist, with only 350 pieces believed to have been made in yellow gold. This is one of the later versions, dating from 1952-1953, a detail that can be determined from the position of the markings on the dial.

This watch has a waterproof “Oyster” case and is in original, unrestored, unpolished condition and has a unique and desirable “star dial”. It has a beautiful patina and a striking, yet understated handsome look to it, with a very desirable soft creamy dial. All hands, markers and even the strap are original to the watch.
With just a peek, this watch commands respect.

A similar ref. #6062 in yellow gold recently sold at auction at Christie’s (Sale 2496, Lot 108 Important Watches) in December 2011 for $542,500.

This product has sold out.
